Spring shows up in Vermont like it forgot its lines and is improvising. One day slush, next day sunshine, then somehow both at the same time. Your truck or SUV feels that chaos just as much as you do. A little seasonal attention now can save you from bigger problems later.

Here are a few smart spring car care tips from the team at St. Johnsbury GMC to keep your vehicle ready for whatever mud, potholes, or surprise road trips come next.

1. Wash Away Winter

Salt and grime don’t politely disappear when the snow melts. They sit there quietly plotting rust.

A thorough wash, especially the undercarriage, helps prevent corrosion and keeps your vehicle looking like something you’re proud to drive instead of something that survived a shipwreck.

2. Check Your Tires

Winter does a number on your tires.

Spring is the perfect time to:

  • Check tread wear

  • Rotate tires

  • Adjust pressure as temperatures rise

Proper tires mean better handling on wet roads and fewer white-knuckle moments during mud season.

3. Inspect Brakes & Suspension

Potholes aren’t just annoying. They are suspension assassins.

If you notice:

  • Pulling

  • Vibrations

  • Squeaking

…it might be time for a quick inspection. Catching small issues now keeps them from becoming expensive ones later.

4. Replace Wiper Blades & Top Off Fluids

Spring rain demands visibility. If your wipers are streaking or chattering, they’re done.

Also a good time to check:

  • Washer fluid

  • Coolant

  • Oil

  • Brake fluid

Because nothing says “bad timing” like running low during a downpour.

A quick visit now beats dealing with a surprise problem later when you’d rather be enjoying the sunshine.

That can be a very complicated question, but here is what we suggest you do. Come into any of our Buick GMC stores, sit with one of our finance specialists and let them review your specific situation. With their guidance and that information, you can decide what’s best for you. Buy it, sell it or trade it in. Get the information and then make the decision that’s best for you. That’s what we suggest. – Abel Toll #autosavergroup

This has been an issue for over two years now. We really don’t see it changing in the near future. The best suggestion I have for you is to go to AutosaverGroup.com and browse our in-stock and incoming inventory. If you see something you like, stop in or call to reserve that vehicle but do it quickly, because many of these vehicles go out as quick as they come in. That’s what we suggest. – Abel Toll #autosavergroup #homeofthebigdeal

Well that depends on the situation. If you are replacing that vehicle then you might want to trade it in. With used car inventories being so low, and used car values so high, you could have a significant amount of equity in your current vehicle that would be a great down payment on your new one. On the other hand, if you’re not replacing it then you should look at selling it. And again, with use car inventories being so low, there’s a good chance we’d love to buy it. – Abel Toll #autosavergroup #homeofthebigdeal
