Informally looking around for a 2024 Yukon/Tahoe leftover at a low price, to meet with my budget, I stumbled onto St. Johnsbury GMC. Emily contacted me and we discussed trading in my 2024 GMC Canyon, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because I needed to return to an SUV but one large enough to support me and dampen the bumps. So, Emily and I discussed a very good opportunity to purchase a leftover Yukon, but when presented with the factual information, I was able to see we were just too far apart on budget vs. reality. So I asked Emily if she wanted to work on some numbers for a 2025 Acadia. And sure enough, she did. We were able to reach a deal that both of us felt good about, and at no point did she say "Let me talk to my manager" which would have been a death knel for our interactions. She worked with whoever she had to work with, and we not only worked out a fair and reasonable deal, but she never told me she had to do that. She just did it. And to make things even better, she worked with me on a meet up to take delivery of the Acadia instead of driving all the way to them, which physically would have been a challenge for me. So, not only did all of that work out, but Amy in the finance office was one of the most sweet, kind, and wonderful people I've ever dealt with in these many years. She wanted to offer service plans if I was interested, and any other services, but at no point did she try to ram them down my throat as happens at most/all car dealerships. Pushy salespeople are an immediate turn off to me, as are people who don't follow through on promises made. When I met up with Edmund, the driver who met me to do all of the paperwork, I realized that not only was everything EXACTLY as they said, but also I was fortunate to spend a few minutes getting to know a gentleman who reminded me of a by gone era. A real gentleman! So with only knowing Emily, Amy, and Edmund from St. Johnsbury GMC during this transaction, I feel like that is all I needed to know. I was so happy that everything worked out, and I didn't have to "shop around" and wait in showrooms while people "Talked to their managers" and all that stuff because I would simply walk away from them if that happened. St. Johnsbury was such a great experience, and I say it was an experience in a positive way, I will not only leave on the front dealership plate, but also the little dealership plaque on the back, which I never do. St. Johnsbury GMC gave me a feeling that they are the perfect car dealer, but also a positive view of Vermont! Special call out to Emily, Amy, and Edmund, which I wish I knew them personally because they would be the kind of people you would want for friends or family. My transaction was completely transparent, and honesty was a pillar of the transaction. Promises made and promises kept. Would I have ever thought I'd buy a car from Vermont when others exist within miles of my house? Nope, never thought it. Am I glad I did? Absolutely! And it leaves a positive imprint on my brain. St. Johnsbury not only earned my business, and any future business, family, etc. but will always be a time I look back to and truly get a good feeling and a smile of happiness. If my health improves enough to make a journey to New England, St. Johnsbury will be one of my waypoints for sure.

My car was brought in for the check engine light being on. I was told nothing was wrong with it and by the time I got it home the check engine light was back on. Took it to another dealership the next week and was told that it needs a new cooling system for the transmission.
